By Jaye Adams
Balancing her studio practice with her roles as mural painter and artist for movies and television, Jaye Adams springs from the grand tradition of New England’s landscape impressionists and realists. She began her artist's journey with plain-air painting taught by Don Stone during her teenage summers on Cape Ann. Later Ms. Adams studied at the Art Student’s League, in New York, where she continued to enrich her mind capturing light and fresh color in figure painting. Her favorite motifs continue; figures location in lush worlds as a tribute to who we are. Jaye Adams was soon a member of the prestigious National Arts Club where she ultimately became Hors Concourse for her handsome, luminous paintings. They consecrate the fine relationship between spontaneously and vibrant color, melding together, in her oils, creating a harmony and equipoise. These vital visual poems are offered, for the spirit beset by a rushed society. Some of Ms. Adams murals include Tavern on the Green at Central Park NYC, The Jungle World Murals at the Bronx Zoo and the triptych paintings of the ancient city of Kandy, in the reception room, at the Sri-Lankan Embassy in Washington DC.Ms. Adams has a studio in West Palm Beach, Florida and summers in New England.
